Keno Walker

Keno D. Walker has been a youth leader of Power U Center for Social Change since he was 13 years old. He was raised in Miami’s “Pork n’ Bean Projects” located in Liberty City. As a teenager, Keno’s lived experiences directly correlated with the issues he began to learn about in Power U. Through his close relationships with former organizers and his political development, Keno quickly became a youth activist and leader in the movement.

For the past two years Keno has been the Youth Organizer at Power U. He has activated a “young black freedom fighter” framework to restorative justice in order to build power into dismantling the school-to-prison pipeline and defunding police in schools— which is driven by his lived experiences as a youth in Miami. Keno has spent the vast majority of his life defending, protecting, motivating and inspiring young people to believe in their power and ability to change the conditions in public schools and the world.
