In September, members gathered for our fourth annual Membership Congress. Over the course of two days, members and staff reflected on the past year and collaborated to shape our organization’s direction. During the Congress, we held elections for the 2024 Leadership Committee, with four candidates running for two open positions. Each candidate presented their vision, shared why they aspired to be an LC member, and answered questions from fellow members, staff, and Congress participants. After a democratic vote, we concluded our Annual Congress by welcoming our two newly elected LC members: Amaya Sheftall and Emily Martinez!

In a special election in November, Kassidey Antenor was elected the second seat & Jamal Victor was elected as the new Documentarian.
As our year continued and committees were formed, we have continued to appoint youth leadership with committee co-chairs. These individuals will lead their committees throughout our year, primarily supporting their committee campaigns and the development of members. Like other leadership positions, these individuals were required to run and be elected by their peers. They are CNC: Roy Puckett & Jordan Norteus, Reproductive Justice: Jimmie Neal & Lamonique Reid, and Exploratory: Azya Whitby & Claud Joseph
