Alie Francois

(She/Her)

Alumn Organizer

Alie Francois was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. She moved to the US at a young age. During her time in primary and secondary education, she witnessed firsthand the injustices Black and Brown youth face in America. She became a Power U member in her senior year of High School in 2020, quickly joining and becoming co-chair of the Counselors not Cops committee. Upon the campaign, she realized that organizing and the fight for fighting for Black and Brown Youth was something she was passionate about and wanted to continue.

Alie is currently attending Florida International University, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in political science. Alie is presently an Intergenerational Organizer, specifically the college-aged organizer and President of Power U at FIU. The purpose of the Chapter on Power U is to enhance students’ ability to fight for social change at FIU by promoting organizing, educating, and leadership building within the student body to play an influential role in the movement for Social Justice. Alie is committed to making that mission happen.
