Brittany Frizzelle was born in Durham, NC. She graduated from Howard University in 2015 and taught elementary school for the next 3 years. After leaving education where she saw firsthand the damage of the School to Prison Pipeline, she completed a joint degree in Law, Community, and Social Change at the University of Miami. Brittany has been with Power U since February 2020.
Originally a part-time Intergenerational Organizer, Brittany focused on organizing both youth and adults in School Board District 9, or South Dade. She now works directly with youth as a Reproductive Justice organizer in District 2, or Liberty City. Brittany’s work centers self determination, autonomy, and safety in our bodies and communities that is sustainable for generations. Her passion is rooted in liberating all people from white supremacy through education, beginning with attacking the school to prison pipeline and the traumas associated.
