Catherine Villalonga is a Queer Cuban-American cultural organizer based in Miami, Florida. With a BFA in Art and Technology from New World School of the Arts, Catherine has been a freelance illustrator and cultural worker for over eight years. They are deeply committed to global and local liberation struggles and have worked within Miami’s organizing community for more than six years.
Catherine’s work bridges digital illustration, graphic design, and storytelling, with expertise in developing multimedia content and executing digital campaigns. They have created impactful projects, including Engage Miami’s Young People’s Policy Priorities, as well as partnering with Power U for the Principles of Unity Zine and merchandise design. They also co-founded Caribe Pouvwa, a Caribbean solidarity collective, where they led a DIY screen printing workshop series focused on the radical history of printmaking. Their passion lies in organizing local artists around critical issues affecting the Caribbean and South Florida.
In their role as Communications Manager, Catherine is committed to enhancing Power U’s storytelling through dynamic imagery and strategic content. They bring their dedication to shaping culture and creativity to empower everyday people, helping to develop their leadership in the struggle to improve the material conditions of our communities.
